Toffee Almond Crunch Cookies

1 cup golden shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 crunchy toffee chocolate bars -- (39 grams each),
coarsely crushed
1 cup almonds -- slivered
Cream shortening, brown sugar, sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla in large bowl
on medium speed of electric mixer until light and creamy.
Combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, beating on low speed until blended.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheet, leaving room for
spreading.
Bake at 375
