1/2 cup butter -- softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg white
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups flour
4 1/2 tablespoons strawberry jam -- strained through a sieve**

Beat together butter and sugar in a medium size bowl, until light and
fluffy.
Beat egg white and salt in a small bowl until stiff. Blend into butter
mixture.
Add flour to make a stiff dough.
Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350
