St. Stanislaus Church in Bristol just had their Dozynki Fall Harvest
Festival for 2008 and all went well except for Saturday night. The
weather conditions were not good with Tropical Storm Hanna hitting the
Bristol area with heavy rain and closing the festival. I was there on
Sunday and it was a warm sunny day! As part of the Dozynki events a
special Mass was said on Saturday and Sunday featuring traditional
Polish Hymns sung by The Polonia Paderewski Choir. The choir also sang
Polish Folk Songs after Mass under the entertainment tent. A Polish
childrens dance group also performed dances from various regions of
Poland. The homemade Polish food was delicious and included golabki,
pierogi, nalesniki, potato pancakes, kielbasa and kapusta. The festival
also had live Polish music for dancing all weekend long. St. Stanislaus
Church is located at 510 West Street in Bristol right across the street
from The Bristol Polish American Citizens Club. If you are ever in the
