The parish family of St. Stanislaus Church in Meriden, CT. has been
getting a few write ups in the local newspaper, The Record Journal, in
the past few weeks. On August 20th, 1908, one hundred years ago, many
people in the Meriden, CT. area were surprised to hear that the new
Polish church in Meriden was fast nearing completion and plans for the
dedication of the edifice have been arranged by The Rev. Msgr. Ceppa,
pastor of the church. Labor Day was chosen for the date of this big
event. When the dedication ceremonies took place, the church was not
entirely completed as there was considerable work to be finished on the
church steeple. The old church on the hill on Oak Street was too small
for the growing parish so this new larger church had to be built. Today,
over 100 years later, St. Stanislaus Church and School are still here
and doing well served by Father Edward Ziemnicki as pastor. The church
is located on the corner of Olive and Akron Streets in Meriden, CT. just
a short drive off Broad St. If you are ever in the area please stop by
for Mass. For directions, further information, and Mass times call the
rectory at 203-235-6341 and someone will help you! I wish the Parish
Family of St. Stanislaus All The Best and STO LAT for another 100 years!
Thanks FRIENDS, Take Care, And GOD BLESS! Dziekuje Bardzo i Bog Zaplac!
