Author: Zurikela

Zver 5.1 is virus, ZVER v. 8.2.3 is boot CD, while some sites on ZVER
are closed for security issues (e.g.
http://servirys.mylivepage.ru/blog/1167_Windows_Xp_Zver_CD_V_8.2.3/calendar/2008...)
and Using CD -ZVER I found some damages on computer. My question is
simple: Is ZVER v. 8.2.3. secure CD, may I use it and how I can test
it?

Creating a Windows Service with dependencies

Author: Harry Bellafonte
Date: Sep 11, 2008 04:32

Hi

I have created a Windows Sesrvice through a reg file. This is the
content of the reg file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\User Admin
Agent]
"Description"="Starts the User Process."

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\User Admin Agent
\Parameters]
"Application"="C:\\RunAgent\\UserProcess.cmd"

The service is created perfectly. What I want to do is the following.
When I stop the service I would like to kill/shutdown a process that
is initiated when the service is started. I have asked around how to
do it. I found out that it is possible but I have to add dependencies
when creating the Windows Service.
How can I create a dependency at the creation of the Windows Service?
And how can I make sure that this dependency is to shut down a
process(in this case java.exe)?

Any help will be appreciated.

CDMA wireless phone/modem config problem ..... please help... TQ

Hi!
In Win_XP, my "Huawei" (ETS2058) CDMA Wireless Phone Modem
successfully accesses the Internet after going through the password
authentication process ( but only if I disable the "CHAP" protocol in
the Internet Explorer Connection advanced security options ) .....
...If 'CHAP' is enabled, the server returns an "Invalid user name or
password" error ..... [error 691].

Since Win'98_SE uses "CHAP" as the default protocol, internet login
attempts always fail the "user name & password" authentication with
this OS.

I have asked the local ISPs "experts" and "network engineers" to
configure their incoming routers / servers to enable the default
Windows (including "CHAP") protocol settings to be used but they
insist that the "Huawei" CDMA phone modem is not compatible with
the Windows '98 platform ....... this despite the fact that Huawei
provides full instructions and all drivers for Windows '98 and many
Huawei users in other countries have confirmed that they have had
no issues with the Huawei/Win'98 combination.
