I will like to implement a stand alone java application that listens
to key stokes in the firefox environment. I understand that the
keyPressed(KeyEvent e) can be used to detect key press, but the focus
is limited to only the interface, described using java, and not for
external programs.

Is there anyway of doing what I am proposing without resorting to
commercial tools?

I'm having is that I don't know at the JFrame and JDesktopPane level
when the JInternalFrame window closes. When the JInternalFrame window
closes, I need to do certain things in the parent JFrame. However, I
don't want to pass a handle from JFrame to JInternalFrame. How can I
listen for JInternalFrame window closing events at the main window
(JFrame) level? Is there a creative way to do this?

I'm trying to access an “html” page inside a JAR file. Then, I want to
display it using Java's Desktop.getDesktop().browse (URI). In other
words, I want to display it using the user's default browser. I was
able to get an URL a(jar:file...) and then convert it to an URI but
Java won't launch and open the default browser (Internet Explore
specifically) with the URI. Can someone show me Java code doing this?

pointed me on the fact that not everybody has the JRE installed. This has a
big influence on Java developer's scope.

What is your opinion about this situation?
