Hi and tnx for reading my message.
For severay years, I'm using a great freeware to change automaticaly my
desktop wallpaper background called "Wallpaper Changer"
( http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/). I've configured it to change once a
day but now that my wallpapers collection has growned, I would like to
change automaticaly my wallpaper, for example, each 5 hours but can't do
it with the program so I'm looking for another freeware which can do
that but also with these charactertics:
- must run under W98SE
- must be able to preview the pictures
- must be able to choose randam wallpaper from the list
- must be able to change wallpaper on only on the first time you start
your machine), after x hours or minutes the system is running, and
manually.
- must be able to resize and/or tile wallpaper if needed
- must be able to analyse and automatically determinate the best
background and icon color AND make desktop icons have captions with
transparant background.
- must be able to read a directory of files and update itself

Are you sure? I use that program, version 1.90, and under "options" / "wallpaper" tab, there's a "change
after" option, with "hours" and "minutes", which can be changed to 5 hours, or anything else...?
Are you leaving the program "open" and running? It needs to be active, otherwise nothing will change
after five hours etc.

Thanks James.
In fact, I was hoping that someone would use the same program told me
that ! I mean, of course I saw this option but tough that the program
will change the wallpaper at a specific time, for example, at 5 pm
o'cllock not each 5 hours for example.
Thanks again James.

P.S. and yes, WPC is always running

Hi again,
No, that's not right... the settings I see are for hours and minutes... it does not change at a set "time".?
Have a look at the FAQ page, as there are a few things that might help;
http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/pages/faq.html
/quote
Q:
What does the "FORCE EXIT" option mean ?
A:
For some features Wallpaper Changer must run in background, because some applications like games
will reset the transparent icons. But it's your choice to "force" Wallpaper Changer to "exit" after changing
your wallpaper on startup.
Q:
I'd like to know exactly what "once a day" means. Does it mean 24 hours after the last wallpaper change
(that would be the same as entering 23 hours 59 minutes in the spin controls above), or does it mean
each day at midnight or some other time ?

Thank you James for all the time you dedicated to answer my question
because it was so easy for me just to try !
And I though that the FAQ was just available online but the prog come
with it so... it was a complete "lazy attitude" from myself !
Thanks again for your time.

I would like that WPC changes my wallpapers each 5 hours.
I've made some tests, using 3 mins, and it works well but I wondered if
I would have to reboot the PC, how WPC will do it ?
So far, I saw that if I reboot, WPC will change the wallpaper which is
set and put a new one after the reboot. It's a little inconvenient but I
don't need perfection.
