As the subject states - is there any? My search on the internet found only
a shareware from sobolsoft and, for me, it even failed in the merging of
just two files (limit of the demo).
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Klaus

I have Vista and Ubuntu. After a few months, I now wouldn't care to
do without either (OK - I'd rather have XP than the Vista on this
newish PC, but that's another story).
I used EasyBCD to organise the dual booting, and to date it's gone
fine.
But dropping from one and booting into the other means sitting waiting
for that bootup menu (starts in Vista by default).
What I'd really like - in Vista at least (but in Ubuntu would be nice
too) - is some sort of utility that would add to the restart menu,
offering "Reboot into Linux" or "Reboot into Windows" options, so the
process can operate unsupervised. I'm sure I've seen something like
this in the past, but can't find anything suitable now.
Anyone suggest a reboot manager that can do this?
John

It's time to re-up the PL hosting fees.
Globat has deteriorated really, really badly. They have a new scheme
every other day to find a way to charge more. I finally canceled my
cc, because out of the spam they would mix in an "opt out" shenanigan
where my cc would be charged for something ridiculous to the tune of
$30-40. They actually spammed me until I quit reading their fluff and
started the opt out BS.
I most definitely _do not recommend Globat,_ unless you pay by
cashiers check. Don't give these people any credit card info! :(
From the thread on degragging Vista:
http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/webhosting.shtml
He gives a great testimonial dating back to 2000 with FutureQuest:
http://www.futurequest.net/Services/Packages/
They do charge a little more for a little less, but I'd be very happy
to pay a fair price to an honest company!
Does anyone have any other web hosts that they can speak for as being
an hionest company for the past 8 years?
The PL site doesn't have huge space or bandwidth requirements, so I
think that this will serve the needs:

Sorry if some of you see this twice, but my first post seems to have
vanished into cyberspace.
Quite some time ago (a year or more) you recommended a freeware CD burning
app. I can't remember a thing about it except that it had a simple
interface (somewhat Explorer-like), and it wasn't CDBurner XP Pro because
I'd never heard of it before. Do you still have it, and do you recall the
name? Sorry to be so vague, but I honestly cannot recall any more.
......And now my face is flaming red. Not only did I have to post this
twice more, but I somehow had a brain fart and sent the first repost to
another ng. Third time's a charm, I hope.

Here is a nice folder syncronization program. I still like and use
AllwaySync as I am comforatble with it and it does all I need to do, but
this has some features AllwaySync doesn't have.
* Synchronise multiple folders
* Tabs allow you to have more synchronisations running at once
* Periodical synchronisations automatically sync your folders in selected
intervals
* Restore files, which were overwritten during the synchronisation
* Add files and folders to black list to make sure they won't be
synchronised in the future
* Make schedules and backup using multisync
* Apple Mac OS X (Universal)
* Microsoft Windows (Installer)
* Linux/Unix (Source code, RPM, Ubuntu, Archlinux and ALT Linux packages)

Hi,
Can anyone please recommend an alternative to the standard windows Vista
defragmenter?
I stumbled across this site today
( http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities/defragmentation.shtml). Ultra
Defragmenter, WinContig, JkDefrag and Auslogics Disk Defrag all look
promising but I was wondering what's the one generally recommended by this
NG? Is there anything better? Are there any of the above that I should steer
clear of?
Thanks.
