The idea of Lennon paired up with Marx was not a new one at the time. In
the early 70's, a comedy troupe called the Firesign Theatre put out an
album called 'How Can You Be In Two Places At Once, When You're Really
Not Anywhere At All'. On the cover, the group is standing underneath a
banner that says "All Hail, Lennon and Marx", with John and Groucho's
pictures on said banner. Fun album. It even has 'The Adventures of Nick
Danger, Third Eye' on it. A tongue in cheek radio spoof. Two of these
guys went on to produce J-Men Forever, another spoor, but this time
re-using and re-writing scenes from old Republic movie serials (ala
'What's up, Tiger Lily?) about a madman's scheme to shove rock and roll
down the throats of all the square nuts who dig Pat Boone's type of
music.
