Hi all Marx fans!
Happy New Year Paige!
The Marx cartoon thing got me thinking. Remember back in the early
1970's when Scooby Doo was meeting everyone that was "hip" & popular in
films and TV at the moment (even if they were dead it didn't matter)
like Laurel & Hardy, the 3 Stooges, Dick Van Dyke, Mama Cass, etc. Well
the Marx Bros. were super popular in the early 1970's after the counter
culture of the late 1960's had tuned in and turned on to them as Timothy
Leary would have put it. So why didn't Scooby Doo end up meeting the Marxes?
That would have been kinda funny if it had been done right. Groucho
wouldn't have cared about any ghost hunt but rather would have been
hitting on Daffney every other second. Harpo would have stolen Scooby's
snack before they ever reached his mouth. Chico would have been trying
to sell Scooby out from under the kids to some carnival owner claiming
he's the world's only talking dog.
Well, I'll let you all add some of your thoughts to this one!
