Symbian question

If I download a Symbian app, and install, does it over write the native app?

ie. Download a mail application; install in E71.

Do both apps still reside in the phone?

Any potential for conflict at all?

It depends.

Most applications will install side by side and you can run multiple
applications on the same phone without affecting the built in programs.

However in the case of some built in apps like Nokia Maps, if you download
and install the new version 2, the version that was on the phone is replaced
with the newer version.

You should be ok.
