  Question: Tachometer data.

Author: InformationalRequest
Date: Aug 23, 2008 01:06

Question: Tachometer data.

I am looking for a tachometer that I can hook up to a shaft, AND I want the
tachometer to send data DIRECTLY to a Microsoft Windows computer (Windows
2000 or Windows XP).

Who makes these and where can they be purchased?

Thank you.

GSM phone card in laptop modem?

Author: GSMlaptopQuestion
Date: Aug 6, 2008 12:20

I guess most of you know by now that most of the US cell phone
companies charge 2-3 times as much for data service in laptops and
PDAs as for phones, even fancy phones that can browse the web like the
AT&T Tilt or the Sidekick (with Sprint).

But one of the best things about GSM is you can move a card from one
phone to another.

So, if I have a data phone with GSM from AT & T or Sprint, and I
temporally move the GSM card from a phone to a laptop modem, will it
work? If so, will AT & T or Sprint (or other cell phone co's that take
GSM) know I have done this, and start charging me more?

Incidentally, does anyone know whether there is a difference in terms
of capability or speed between the "Media Net" that is available for
AT & T prepaid cell customers and the data service available for AT &
T monthly cell customers?

Thanks

  GSM CSD

Author: sitalbot

I have an application from Europe that is being migrated to GPRS
however it currently only works on GSM CSD. There are many rumours
(although I have not been able to confirm them) that GSM CSD is no
longer supported in North America. I have a basic need for
approximately 20 units to work on GSM CSD from now until the end of
2008 - does anybody know if this is available and who I should be
contacting.

Thank you in advance!!
