Right now I just noticed that:
You can still get Coke, Grape, Strawberry, and Orange Crush, IBC
root-beer, and several other *decent* tasting soda-pops, in glass
bottles. Sadly, neither 7-Up nor Bubble-Up are among those.
I can, if I hunt (and am willing to pay the premium) buy whole-grain and
multi-grain breads that taste great. OTOH, *most* bread on the market,
including so-called "wheat breads" are just practically pure starch in
masticateable form.
You can buy good tools that will practically last a lifetime ... and
have "lifetime warranties" if one doesn't. Just hand in the old worn
out tool, and they hand you a new one; no questions asked. They aren't
the cheap ones down in the hardware section at Wal Mart though.
About ten years ago I went out to buy furniture for my bedroom ...
*good* furniture; but not something I'd have to mortgage the house for.
By looking *closely* at how the furniture was constructed, I found...

Actually, 7-Up is, but it may be hard to find that way, depending on who
distributes it in your area (it's in the short, squat, 10-oz bottles
with the wrapper, like Pepsi. Not the *old*-style, slender bottles.)

Strangely enough, since I don't care much for most fruit-flavored soft
drinks (although I *do* like the Orange Crush,) I really like Wal-Mart's
brand - particularly the key lime, peach, and black cherry.

I'll have to look for it.
Maybe the bottling company in this area just doesn't carry it.
It's nice to know however, that some places still do.
Took a while for the local stores to carry bottled Coke around here.
Used to have to go into the city to find it.

I know but consider the amount of sugar in soda. We just have water
with lemon and sweet and low.
Sounds boring but that is how I am losing the weight. That and staying
away from mega breads.

I agree with your sentiment, that quality is worth it, and that it can
be difficult to find quality these days. However, I'm not sure how
that applies to items in glass bottles. Just take a look at the weight
of the containers themselves, and it is obvious that for an equivalent
amount of liquid, the weight of the containers is significantly
different. It may not be very noticeable to you when lugging home a
case of 7-Up, but when shipping large amounts of them it will make much
moreeconomic sense to use the lighter container (for an interesting...
