The Holburne failed in its planning and listed building consent applications
in July of this year.

The Heritage Lottery Fund trustees have adopted a dual standard, bent their
own rules, and extended the funding decision deadline, so that The Holburne
Trustees can launch an appeal.

This development must be stopped. The Holburne Trustees must not be allowed
to destroy the World's only 18th Century Pleasure Garden still in use as a
public park with a totally inappropriate building. Please help.

i actually have a movie rental card now, first time EVER in my life i
have one (so I can actually rent movies now, though i still have not
done so), as a result of the great tragedy of May 2001.
that was the month that a friend came over and didn't leave until August. I
got tired of listening to the incessant whining of how he wanted to
watch movies for 3 consecutive months, so I got a card for the movie
place across the street so I could get some peace and quiet.

I actually did watch ONE movie with him (he rented about 3 per week
during that entire time), it was "Jackie Brown". Very long. I spent so
much time asking him "Who is that?" "What did he say" "Why did he do
that?" "What just happened there?".... that he pretty much decided
after that, there was really no need for me to watch movies with him
ever again. (It works every time!) So he watched movies in the living
room and I watched NickatNite in the bedroom.

So anyway, I have a movie card, if I ever go back to the rental place
perhaps I'll pick up Tomcats!

A while back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now, and
came across an article similar to this that said you
could make thousands of dollars in CASH within weeks with only an initial
investment of $6.00 plus stamps!
So I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam!" I had heard of these
before but never had the nerve to try it. But like most of
us I was curious and kept reading. It said that if you send $1.00 to each of
the 6 names and addresses listed in the article, you
could make thousands in a very short period of time.
You then place your own name and address at the bottom of the list at #6,
and post the article to at least 300 newsgroups.
(There are about 32,000 of them out there and that's quite a large market
pool). No catch, that was it.
Even though the investment was a measly $6, I had three questions that
needed to be answered before I could get involved in
this sort of thing:
1. IS THIS REALLY LEGAL? I called a lawyer first. The lawyer was a little
skeptical that I would actually make any CASH
but he said it WAS LEGAL if I wanted to try it. I told him it sounded a lot ...
