Yet another question for Bev

In a strange merging of events over the last couple of days, I've been asked
about SK and him writing under pen names. The only one I know about for sure
is the Bachman name, but others have been thrown about, such as The Journals
of Eleanor Druse (Eleanor Druse), The Diary of Elen Rimbauer (Joyce Reardon)
and Exorcism (Eth Natas). The first two I've known about for years but never
really knew if SK really wrote them or not. The third one I only heard of
recently, though it was written in 1972.

Do you know who wrote these and did SK write under any other names that you
know of, OR, is it a closely guarded secret and to reveal the info would
cost you your first born? :-)

Thanks

Chip

Ridley Pearson wrote The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. He also scripted the
movie based on the diary. He writes crime thrillers and is also
co-author of some Peter Pan prequels with Dave Barry and is a fellow
Rock Bottom Remainder.

Richard Dooling wrote The Journals of Eleanor Druse. He also co-wrote
several episodes of Kingdom Hospital and was on set for the entire
production because King was sick during most of that period. He's a
National Book Award nominated writer.

King did not write as Eth Natas (anagram for The Satan). I don't know
who did, but it wasn't King. Crafty eBayers claim it was to boost
sales.

> How did SK and Rose Red tie into this?

King wrote the screenplay for Rose Red. It was based on a project he
and Steven Spielberg tried to put together many years earlier, but they
couldn't agree on the story's focus. So King did it himself.

The company that owns ABC also owns the publisher Hyperion. Someone
came up with the idea of doing a media tie-in book, but King didn't
have the time to write it so he suggested his buddy Ridley Pearson, who
spent time on the Rose Red set. His presence there let him inject into
the diaries things like a funny allusion to King's cameo in the
miniseries.

King used the name John Swithen once, if I recall correctly.
