The Stand (1978) Book Club Edition

Hello all,
don't know if anyone can help me or not, but here goes.... I've got a
good condition copy of this book and I know it's not a first
edition/first print as it doesn't have the T39 code on page 823. It's
code is BB13, but no-one seems to be able to tell me what this is.

It's a signed copy, and quite precious to me and I just want to
understand it's history a bit better. Finally, seeing the price some of
these things go for, I need a rough indication of value so I can insure
it if necessary.

Thanks for any help you can give,
Tony.

Your subject line indicates "Book Club Edition" -- is this the case?
The clearest evidence of this is the lack of a price on the inside
front flap of the dust jacket. Also compare the overall dimensions
(especially the height) to those of a first edition, using the
information at

Hi Bev,
Thanks for that - it answers everything I needed to know. I know the
signature is genuine, as he signed it under my nose at a recent book
reading event in Battersea, London - I've even got a few (albeit shaky)
photos of him signing. It's not personalised as SK was trying to sign
as many books as he could during a limited time frame.

I'll not be putting it up for auction - it's my favourite book, and the
fact it isn't worth a lot commercially actually makes me quite happy; I
won't feel bad about reading it from time to time and, anyway, it's
valuable to me!

Many thanks for your help,
Tony.
