As an independent contractor, the Communications and Marketing
Assistant (CMA) will work approximately 30 hrs/week with team members
to develop and implement various initiatives to promote and advance
the business objectives of Hampton Roads Ventures, LLC (HRV), a
community investment firm, based in Norfolk. The position will also
provide collateral services to team members to assist them to
implement similar initiatives on behalf of the Norfolk Redevelopment
and Housing Authority. CMA will support various projects including the

presentations, and media databases and lists. In addition, the CMA
will support team in planning of special events, copywriting,

for someone who is friendly, out-going, creative,professional, and who
works well with others. The job includes assisting customers in making
gift and flower purchases, putting together and wrapping flower
bouquets, taking and processing orders,and the daily
maintenence/cleaning of the store. Experience is not required however
it is preferred. We just want someone who loves to work with people
and flowers.

Requires previous experience in software/hardware integration and life
cycle testing; prefer bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems
or Computer Science
5-10 years experience in database management and programming
experience. Individual should be able to maintain Microsoft Visual
FoxPro databases and SQL Server 2000 databases in a windows
environment; administer and maintain a Digital VAX 3800 and 4000 server
and its databases in Datatrieve; and maintain HTML and ColdFusion web
pages. Individual should also be able to manipulate images in Adobe
Photoshop or compatable software and manipulate pdf files in Adobe
Acrobat.
