Essential functions, but not limited to: Responsible for providing engineering support for maintenance and improvement of MRL facilities at the West Point site. This position provides technical services to project teams composed of MRL, Environmental and Safety departments, Global Engineering Services, and other outside groups that support Research. The incumbent will develop work order backlog priorities, project scopes, The performance of HAZOP’s, IQ/OQ’s, process safety reviews and conformance to federal, state, and Merck’s safety/environmental and engineering standards is a part of this function. This position requires good technical and project management skills, along with the ability to foster a strong team environment. In addition, this position requires a significant interface with internal and external customers and requires the ability and leadership to balance customer needs with facility/project constraints. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work with multiple departments and all levels of management. Facility operations, HVAC, animal facility, GMP and renovation experience is desirable.

Qualifications

Education: B.S in Engineering Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of Facilities Engineering in operations, project implementation, design, or construction management. Experience with HVAC equipment, industrial electrical and piping systems, and basic accounting principles also required. Must have a negative TB test.
