Description: Position Summary:



Responsible for application support, maintenance and enhancements to the Manufacturing Information System. These systems include, but are not limited to Data Acquisition, LIMS and small operational systems. This position requires working with Operations, Process Engineering and End User Staff to optimize performance, maintain system integrity, analyze requests for additional functionality, and assist in developing value added applications. Other roles include systems support liaison services for 3rd party applications, working on projects related to software upgrades, new software evaluations, and user impact analysis. This position requires on-call duties.



Requirements:



Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience. Experienced application support analyst for desktop and server installed applications. Experienced handling 3rd party software upgrade activities, including dealing with vendors. Excellent client-server application support skills (software installs, software evaluations, etc.). Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and documentation skills. Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual contributor. Proficient time management skills. Accomplished user support skills. Ability to respond to urgent issues in a 24/7 support environment. Must possess the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must exhibit ability to act independently in assessing proper solutions or developing action plans and implementing accordingly. Must display technical and application aptitude in addressing technology and user issues and be able to react to critical business needs in a timely manner.



Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:



Proficient in: Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (95, 98, 2000, NT, XP), Microsoft Office Suite. Programming Languages: C, Fortran, .NET, SQL and Visual Basic. Server Technologies: (Windows NT, 2000), Compaq/Digital, Alpha/VAX Fortran and DCL. Familiarity with OSISofts's PI UDS Data Historian and ACE Calculation engines and interfaces a plus.



Special Considerations:



Position requires approximately 15%% travel and working in a 24/7 support environment.



Note: This is a great position for a Process Control Engineer who desires to move into a more IT - oriented role. Or for an IT professional with an engineering degree and experience in manufacturing.
