Oh! I am wetting myself! You *must* go here and watch this YouTube
presentation of a lady earnestly offering her rendition of the
well-known Mariah Carey song, 'Ken Lee'.

http://failblog.org/page/3/

Scroll down and look for the label 'Language Fail' and play the video.
Read the subtitles with an open mind and a careful ear. And have tissues
close by! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

DS is still weeping...

You know you're a library regular when ...

You walk up to the checkout desk with some books in hand. BEFORE you
hand over your card, the librarian has turned to the Hold shelf behind
her and transferred over half of its contents to the pile in front of
you waiting to be borrowed.

Yes, the librarians at my local library branch know me by sight! I
use their Hold facility a lot - I can browse any of the five linked
branches then get my choices of books delivered to my local branch for
borrowing. It makes life a lot easier as I can't drive to the other
branches (no licence and no possibility of getting one) and the local
branch is the smallest of the five.

and the second:

I dunno how many of you might be following it, but did *anyone* see the
Oz Shane Rose's dressage test on the weekend? The poor bugger! I bet he
wishes he could've taken his bat to the stupid creature he rode!

(NB. Does anyone out there 'do' dressage? If not, then don't read on -
it's pretty boring to all but those who 'do' it...)

Anyway, Shane Rose trotted into the arena, halted at X and saluted the
judge. He did a faultless first half of his test (it was a pretty easy
one, consisting of simple transitions and changes of gait...

I dunno if my earlier posts actually got sent, so I'm resending thehm.
Here's the first one:

It's still Fell Winter over here, Joyce, and will be for the foreseeable
future. Yes, that's why I put the few veg into styrofoam tubs - I
couldn't wait for The Garden to be finished. I might go ahead...

  O my!

Author: Trish Brown

It appears I'm going to be a grandma (step, that is) sooner than I'd
expected to! My DSD, Ayesha, has announced she's due in February!

DH and I are still reeling. For some odd reason, we'd sort of expected
the whole engagement/wedding thing first. Our old age is showing, I
s'pose. Ayesh will make a great little Mum (except that she's six foot
tall in stocking feet) and Luke, her DBF, is keen on 'being there' for
his child and its Mother.

I guess my own history colours my judgement somewhat. I just can't help
thinking the security of an ongoing commitment would be a nice idea
*before* the child's arrival. Y'know?

Ah well. We'll see how it all pans out, I guess. In the meantime, I'm
planning all sorts of lovely frilly baby things to make. My DSD and I
are on the same page about what babies ought to wear and she agrees that
white lace and frills are the go! Hooray!

The quilt is probably going to be in a country sort of flavour with
cream, bottle green, navy and dull carmine. A puff quilt, I think...
