Howdy folks,

I finally feel about ready to start doing a few more gigs... But I
really should get my own mains first (and a truck).

=== BACKGROUND ===

By way of introduction, here's the venerable if motley collection of
gear I've accumulated over time:

Before the board...

- 57s, 58s, 421U, D4, D6, RE20, small condensers (Shure BG,
Behringer...), a dozen other mics
- enough stands, clips, and neatly coiled cables for all the above
- some DIs, a couple of cheap 100' 16x4 snakes and a few drop snakes

SICK STALKER ROBERT MOREIN - WARNING FLYER FROM PHILLY POLICE

Author: Sylvan Morein, DDS
Date: Aug 30, 2007 12:33

Readers here will note that after police intervention necessary during a
recent trip, I've managed to have the drug regimen adjusted and severely
increased for my tragically sick son Robert Morein. He has become docile as
a lamb as a result. Police have also ordered his telephone disconnected due
to his hundreds of 911 calls to them as well as harassing calls to others
around the world.

Local police have suggested that their WARNING FLYER about my sick son
Robert Morein be circulated to the areas where he's been stalking people.
This is the same flyer they circulated around our Philadelphia
neighbourhood, and was available to law enforcement during the trip to other
jurisdictions.

ROBERT MOREIN - NUTCASE, CRACKPOT, DANGEROUS NET TERRORIST & CRAZY MOTHERFUCKER

Author: Soundhaspriority

I always knew Crazy Robert Morein was, well, "crazy". A crackpot. A
nutbasket. Two burgers short of a Big Mac. Fudged in the head. You know,
"cuckoo" . Ever since Crazy Bob turned
into Mark David Chapman and started believing he was me, and signing his
messages with my name, I became convinced this guy was a "lunatic among
lunatics" on Usenet, never mind just RAO!

Sorry if this has been covered, but has anyone used the TOA hx-5 system with
the sub (fb-120)?

For small to medium club use it looks like an interesting system.

Anyone have any experience with these? Am looking to put them in across the
ship to replace the dying varicurves. I like the idea of being able to
adjust volume levels throughout the ship from my control booth via ethernet.

So, anyone used them? Good or bad experiences? Any alternatives I should be
looking at?

Cheers,

Phildo

Beware of counterfeit components on ebay.

Two sellers on ebay -- both from HK -- are selling counterfeits.
goodbuy711 and hongkongsuperseller.
Both appear to be the same person as one has an ebay store known as
PARTSPIPE and the other one is ALLPARTSPIPE.

Their Motorola transistors are ALL counterfeits -- not real tough to see why
when you look at the pictures.
They also list some Fairchild transistors as well as GE/RCA transistors --
also counterfeits.
I would guess many of the Toshiba's and other manufacturer's components are
fake as well.

So
-- be wary of buying anything else from ebay.

  Cone adhesive?

Author: mcsteve
Date: Aug 25, 2007 17:20

Anyone got a DIY recommendation for repairing a tear in
a speaker surround?
Hoping to find a glue/adhesive that will fix it.
The tear is a small one, right in the crease. Still, enough to
make it distort.
It's an EVM 12 inch.

TIA

  question about Studio manager

Author: tbmoas58
Date: Aug 25, 2007 07:25

I have finally got my computer and desk on speaking terms via the ethernet

I want to establish a default set up where ch 1-32 are monitor ch and 33-64
are linked as FoH ch

is it better to configure the desk then try to load the desk into studio
manager
or is it better to configue studio manager then load that into the desk
or to directly manipulate my desk via studio manager
in effect configuring both sm and the ls9/32 at the same time
thanks
George
