" Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our
likeness... " Gen. 1:26
" And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He
created him; male and female He created them. " Gen. 1:27

the Name " Elohiym, " is a plural Word rendered " God " in the
verses cited above. if the Name " God " were a singular word,
rendering the word by the use of pronouns would require the use of
singular pronouns, not plural pronouns, as every school child knows.
but in these amazing verses we have direct statements as to the
nature of being of the Supreme Being, Maker of all things.
while the Lord God uses plural pronouns to correctly render His
plural Name, He concludes verse 26 with the singular noun " image, "
which describes Him as united in the nature of His Persons, as He does
in Deut. 6:4... ( He does... not They do )
" Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one. "
The " Lord " ( singular ), is our " God, " ( plural ), the Lord
( singular ) is " one " ( quantifier; united )
what all this means is that God reveals Himself as one Supreme Being
who somehow subsists as Three Divine Persons. that's how God has
shown Himself to His Prophets and Apostles as they wrote Holy
Scripture at His direction, and through them alone, to us.
such perverted conclusions as there being many God's is simply the
work of Satan as he prompts his disciples to muck up the Holy Name
of God. this is also true for those Oneness people who pervert the
Scriptures with their conclusions of there being one God not revealed
as Father, Son and Holy Spirit... we just take our magic marker and
blot out of the Bible what we don't like...
to answer their folly we turn our attention to Scripture...
the Father says " I " Mt. 3:17
the Son says " I " Joh. 14:6
the Holy Spirit says " I " Acts 13:2
the Son is referred to as " Eternal Father " in Is. 9:6 and says He
is the Eternal Father in Joh. 10:30. the Son refers to the Holy
Spirit as " He " ( Joh. 16:13 ). the Father refers to the Holy Spirit
as " My Spirit " ( Mt. 12:18 ) and the Holy Spirit is referred to us
as Eternal God by the Son who is God in Joh. 16:13, because the
distinctive attribute of Eternal God is to bring the future into
being.
there is but one God referring to Themselves as " Us" ( Gen. 1:26 )
all while using the Bible word " one " ( Deut. 6:4 ) to describe
Himself... a quantifier denoting unity, as in Gen. 2:24 " the two
shall become ' one ' flesh. "
the Bible word " counsel " speaks of a group meeting formally or
informally to discuss a matter and render a decision... as in Ps.
2:2,3; Acts 27:42, and is used in Acts 2:23 to describe the unanimous
decree of the Blessed Trinity to set Jesus Christ, Eternal God, as
Jehovah's Wonderful Counselor before wicked men to do with Him as they
pleased, thus fulfilling the Divine Plan of Redemption of His elect by
His death on the cross.
while the elect stand in awe by God's wonderful description of the
nature of His Person, the reprobate find the same verses utterly
ridiculous. ( ! Cor. 2:14 ) but then again, the Word of God is given
only to the elect. Luke 8:10

man also is a unity of entities... Mt. 10:28; 1 Th. 5:23 since he is
made in the image of God.

" believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved "
Acts 16:31
" and as many as had been appointed to eternal life, believed."
Acts 13:48
