Too bad Richard Nixon wasn't elected Pesident instead of JFK , who
literally stole the election . Want to see what a hard line Anti-
Communist would of done to North Vietnam from the get go , one would only
have to go back to the X-mas bombings of Hanoi and Hai Phong Harbor to see
that we would of won that war if we had properly used air power from the
beginning .
If you will recall your history properly , it was the only time in the
history of a substained conventional air offensive , up until that time ,
that not only was it a success but actually lead to the signing of a peace
declaration . If this had started in the early 60's , that is one ' coon
skin hat ' that we could of brought back and nailed to the wall !

President Kennedy was ending the Vietnam war before it even started, way
back in 1963. Colonel Prouty explains exactly what happened

LBJ knew even before he took over as President that we could not win in
Vietnam. He knew it was a quagmire.
