DETOURS
How wooly heads wisely prevail
By Kimberly Sherman, Globe Correspondent
July 6, 2008

PUTNEY, Vt. -- There are not too many places worth visiting that greet
guests with the smell of livestock. But those who venture into the tiny,
farm-scented retail shop at the Green Mountain Spinnery are rewarded
with the chance to browse racks of colorful patterns, displays of
knitted projects, and buckets of yarns in a gritty working mill with a
story to tell.

The Spinnery is a kind of business not completely uncommon in Vermont: a
worker-owned cooperative that supports regional farms and seeks
environmentally responsible ways to do business -- in this case,
processing natural fibers.

  Anarcho-primitivism

Author: tully

I was surprised and pleased when I recently stumbled across the
anarcho-primitivism wikipedia page and I am now trying to find where
others are discussing the subject so I can participate. Since my
daytime minutes are limited for internet access, I can't use web forums,
blogs, etc., but I can easily use listservs, mail lists, yahoogroups, or
usenet because minimal online access time is needed. Was
hoping that usenet, our last bastion of internet anarchy, would have
something on primitivism, but I'm not finding it. So maybe I can find
out about or start something here. If anyone can put me onto an active
listserv or mail list about primitivism, I'd be grateful.

First, my apologies for my ignorance of all anarchism material. I'm a
newbie who has tried to read a little on the subject, but find my eyes
glazing over when discussion starts comparing scholarly aspects...

Christiania’s fate might end up in the courts
By Luna Finnsson

Culture, Music and the Arts, Denmark, Lifestyle, MBL

a Christiania protest marchLong running efforts to formalise the status
of Copenhagen’s most famous suburb seem to have reached a deadlock. The
hippie enclave that has squatted on a former army base near the city
centre for four decades initially agreed to proposals from city
administrators but with too many conditions attached.

Carsten Jarlov, representing the Palaces and Properties Agency, says his
party has lost patience, pointing out that the state had already spent
‘20,000 hours and around 20 million kroner’ on resolving the matter.

‘I don’t see the point in meeting again,’ he told public broadcaster DR.
‘Now the courts will have to decide the fate of Christiania.’

Noam Chomsky, NLP and Mind Control

Chomsky discusses 9/11 in the following:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NdWiCPrOyI&feature=related

It was so essential to the government that Anarchists not question
9/11 incisively that they dragged out their biggest anti-Anarchist
gun, Noam Chomsky, to quell any questions among the Anarchist ranks
before they were asked.

Oh, yes. Chomsky is on the government payroll. According to people who
worked with him at MIT, he was on their payroll from the 1970s.

Noam Chomsky's job is to keep the Anarchists on a low flame.

He does this in many ways. The most effective way in which he does it
is by utilizing a mind control technique that he was instrumental in
developing called Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

WHAT IS NLP?

Please see the following sites for a brief introduction.

An Open Letter to Barack Obama on Iran

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ObamaIran/

Dear Senator Obama,

We the undersigned may have different views on U.S.
foreign policy with respect to Iran. We all, however,
are deeply concerned about the stories in the press in
the past few weeks suggesting that the Bush
administration might be considering a military strike
on Iran, that it might give a green light to such an
attack by Israel, or that it might engage in other acts
of war, such as imposing a blockade against Iran.

We welcomed your stand against the war on Iraq in 2002.
And we were encouraged by your early campaign
statements emphasizing diplomacy over military action
against Iran. Today, you have an opportunity to
forestall a repeat of the tragic Iraq war. We hope you
will use that opportunity.

FREE MARKET ANTI-STATISM

A free market (sometimes referred to as free trade) has not been
adequately delineated. It means much more than lower tariffs or less
protectionism between nation states. In essence, it means that buyers
and sellers, exchangers of goods and services, can proceed without
intervention or hindrance from any outside party. It applies to
economic activities of individuals, businesses, and organizations both
within and between national boundaries.

IN PRAISE OF THE FREE MARKET

"They can push for censorship on the grounds that ignorant bigots are
spreading lies about them just because they're a minority race of
people who are simply misunderstood. And for a long, long time now,
that's worked well for them. But lately, things are beginning to
change. In the face of a absolute firestorm of lurid accusations
swirling around about them on the internet, one thing is increasingly
obvious by its total absence: any effort to directly engage their
accusers face-to-face."

Of course, the Jews can only smear the messenger even as the facts are
known. In Canada "the truth is no defence" in the courts if you go
against Big Jewry. What the hell kind of demockery democracy is that?

G8 Dispatches: Dissent Blooms in Japan Despite Massive Police Represssion
By Marina Sitrin and David Solnit and Asha Colazione and Sarah Lazare,
July 1, 2008

Four simultaneous marches and rallies took place on June 29th in Tokyo
and Sapporo, characterized by vibrant and colorful voices of resistance
and a suffocating police presence. The marches in Tokyo weaved through
the streets, complete with rolling sound systems blasting protest music.
People chanted in various languages, waved flags from around the world,
and joyfully displayed banners and puppets exclaiming what they are
against as well as what they are for.

Controls increased ahead of G8

The protests against the 2008 G8 summit have begun. On Thursday a
demonstration took place in Kyoto against the G8 foreign ministers
meeting. There are three protests camps in Sapporo, the nearest town to
Lake Toya, where the G8 summit will take place from July 7-9.
Alternative media centres in Sapporo and Tokyo have been set up and a
network of critical lawyers is ready to support demonstrators. Events,
conferences and demonstrations are scheduled for the coming week. Many
activists from around the world have travelled to Japan, amongst them
anarchist and trade union groups from other Asian countries.
[Anyone know about these anarchist groups from Asian countries?--DC]
