George Hansom had had a bad day.
He missed the 5:17 and had to wait for the next train.
He missed the 5:17 because he was sitting in his office,
Nancy came in at 4:30, "Mr. Hansom is their anything else?"
"No, Nancy, go home, have a nice weekend."
Nancy looked at him like a mom looks at a hurt child, it was not lost on
George Hansom.
Dear Nancy.
Nancy knew.
At 2:00 George Hansom had had an appointment with Mr. Sears, the CEO of
Hyde & Forest, his best client.
The started their businesses at about the same time, they grew at a fast
rate. They became the usual American success.
As they grew Hyde & Forest demanded more and more service at cheaper and
cheaper prices. This year George Hansom had to tell them "This is our
price, our final bid to you."
He walked out of their offices and found a bar, he had never had a drink
in mid-afternoon but then again he had never thrown away twenty percent
of his clientele before.
