I'm in a dire financial situation right now so even EBay isn't an
option. It's an Acer Aspire 5601. It uses the same connector as a Compaq
and it's 19V, 4.7A.
I'm able to get it working again (most of the time) by wiggling it the
right way and draping the cord over the corner of the screen. The
battery has enough juice for 10-20 minutes once the connection works its
way loose again.
It sucks. This is most of what remains of my worldly goods, too.
