Dominion Ship) KET'OCEL WHITE began, of course, with it's odd origins.
It was built at Utopia Planitia shipyards: the main Starfleet shipyards.
And her name was, in those days, U.S.S ENTERPRISE. The famous NCC-1701D.
After a seven year life the "Booby D" was totalled on Kirk's World in
the Veridian system.
The primary saucer section was salvaged by an insurgent Dominion
Retrieval Squad (the famous Xhalax Regiment) and brought to Cardassia
Prime for intelligence purposes. And to be rebuilt as the Dominions
prime propaganda weapon.  Such a treasure trove of information could
not
go unheeded for long. Top Spoonhead and Vorta computer experts sought to
reconstruct the data base. But the erasure of the computers by the
initial Federation salvage team had been thorough. All according to
Starfleet protocol. As if that was thorough enough when dealing with the
Dominion! Soon, using something called an "Underspace Meta-Chronal
Isolinear PurgeTrace Reconstructor", they had the Federation flagship's
entire database reconstructed! Woe betide the Alpha Quadrant.
   But that database turned out to be no as useful as the Dominion ...

After two days of fairly lurid weather-- a day of 20-mph wind gusting
over 30 followed by a night that was worse followed by a day that was
_worse_, gusting over 40, followed by a calm night last night but with
the temperature in the single digits F-- today was just the usual gray
Ohio River Valley day, just below freezing all day.

And I had to go run some errands awhile ago, and, while I was out, noticed
heavy traffic, and the grocery store was all a-bustle.

And also noticed a very very fine snow, which could hardly even be seen
or felt at first, and has remained extremely fine and steady, but has now
accumulated in the course of just a couple of hours to over one half-inch.

And do you know what? I think all those humans running around that I saw
_knew_ that this snow was coming and was going to accumulate.

Weird.

I wonder what I have been up to.

I just zipped me headers-lists and cache from Pan for backup and it all
came to 674 MB. _Zipped._ (A ".tgz" file.)

That doesn't seem right somehow.

ANYhow, having done that, and then deleted all me headers-lists and
emptying the cache and so on, and starting anew (but with the old message
pointers, of course), old Pan here has become downright snappy again.
