For the leftpondia model, it's exactly an insurance thing. I've been
paying my taxes to the Yoo Ess and to the state of Californicate. But I
may well choose to retire to the Yoo Kay or to the state of Denver.
Neither of the latter have received any "insurance payments" (i.e.
taxes) from me. So under the insurance model they have a legitimate
claim that my 'home nation' is the one that owes me a living.
But then ... to move freely in the world is one of the "Rights of Man".
To which the Yoo Ess is a signatory ... (*sigh* yeah, right)
Odd will either die early (not likely darnit ... I have Ancient Aunt
Alice Genes in me) or will eventually wind up some where depending on
some one/entity, and that will be a new adventure ...
