No one polished the engine did they? Polish or corrosion ( which could
be invisible) affects contacts to the track. Will the engine work on the
rail to which the power is connected?
I've a dissimilar curiosity! My elder lad's was constructed in the 20th
century - was rarely used and is hauled up on a board against one of his
bedroom walls. (At present he's one of the Barmy Army that's FFFfrozen
in Oz and missed his Beach BBQ as a result of the weather!).
