I did? What is it?
I've been thinking and trying to remember unpleasant food at school
and I can't remember any. I was at boarding school from the age of 9,
so there must have been something. Maybe I just like food?
"Dead Man's Thigh" at primary school was a bit of a worry until I
tried it. Beef Wellington. Yum.
I remember devilled kidneys for breakfast at secondary school.
I was getting much better food at school that I got at home. My mother
was not the world's most enthusiastic cook. She still isn't.
Best meal at school was a Sunday lunch. Asparagus season. Most of the
boys went out with their parents for the day. We got huge quantities
of asparagus swimming in real butter. I think that it was accompanied
by roast chicken. Yum.
