ah, you know their tricks. i have had many friends that sold cars, and they
all told me pretty much the same thing. they keep the cash on hand for
office supplies, c.o.d. orders for the parts and service departments, lunch
for the salespeople when the boss isn't around, and for the all-important
cash draw for the salesperson that hasn't made any commissions lately.

according to my friend harry, in the old days salespeople used to jump for
joy when a woman came in alone to buy a car because they wouldn't try to
wheel and deal like men would. now he says that women are some of the
hardest bargainers when it comes to buying cars. he says that you need to
stress the fact that you are paying cash, are ready to buy, and want the
absolute best deal. and don't settle for their first offer, they can always
come down more if they really want the sale. and cash saves them money in
the long run on bank fees and paperwork and other incidentals.

shop smart, and keep us posted on what you bought and how good of a deal you
got.
