Happy Thanksgiving

... to my fellow Americans. Eat hearty on Thursday. The weather here in
the nation's heartland is lousy for holiday traveling, cold and windy with
rain and snow. Makes me glad I'm staying put. Be careful if you are going
over the river and through the woods. Let's all sing together children.

Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood -
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the ground we go.

Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play.
Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding",
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!

"I don't want her; you can have her;
She's too fat for me, she's too fat for me;
She's too fat for me.
You can have her; I don't want her;
She's too fat for me;
She's too fat; she's too fat;

Many thanks for your warm wishes, fellow American, but if I don't stop
eating, you can substitute "him" for "her".

I actually bought a Marie Callender's turkey dinner for my meal
tomorrow. 'Tis 'nuff! Plenty of dinners and all-you-can-eat buffets
to go to, but it's tooooooooooo much.

I've worked on many a Thanksgiving and many people do. I'll be working at
my shop today getting ready for Black Friday, but I'll work in a quick
dinner with relatives. "Have to get back to work" is a great excuse to
leave early. :) Read a story about a woman who volunteered at a shelter
making and serving Thanksgiving dinner to the needy for years rather than
have dinner with her family, often a tedious affair.

We had no weather, to speak of, but my tire did blow out on the freeway on
the way home this morning...as I was going 70mph in the middle lane, with
the cars to my left passing like I was standing still, and big rig trucks
one after another to my right. Just switch that around for those of you on
the ----> other side of the pond, and you'll get the idea. Fun stuff. I
narrowly missed becoming a holiday statistic, ho hum.

The turkey yesterday didn't resemble dessicated roadkill, as it did when I
last had Thanksgiving at my parents, I think it was year before last.
However, I've bought a turkey to roast tomorrow, because I have no stock in
the freezer, nor turkey leftovers, and I need both.

Oh, and I have four brand new tires on my car.

Glad you're ok.

Look on the bright side; it'll keep you "regular" over the Thanksgiving
Weekend :)
