Gustav and a new sig..

So, with nothing to do but hang about waiting.. thought I'd surf the net
and came up with this:

http://www.stcustards.free-online.co.uk/

Its like having your very own website!

My best mate is here for Southern Decadence and has accelerated his
departure from Tues to tomorrow. Which is the last flight out of New
Orleans till the current unpleasantness is over.

I bought this house in Dec '05 not only because I liked it but because
it didn't flood, so am taking it 'as read' that it won't do it this time
either. However, I have generator, batteries, water, etc etc to last
till the shops open again.

The boat is 'hurricane rigged' with extra lines and all cloth removed
from the exterior.

A neighbour told me that Robert (a supermarket) on Carrollton (never
reopened after katrina) has a roof car park... which is where the Minx
and the saab will be parked.

The Mems' Nursing Home is evac'ing tomorrow morning so she will be here
at home when Gustav comes ashore.

Love the first page Molsey! All my grammar school exercise books looked a lot
like that when I was a kid. Always covered in doodles of aircraft shooting down
other aircraft...lol.

Good luck with Gustav too!

That's sent me rushing back to cherished copies of "How to be Topp" and
"Down with Skool!" (these are some of the volumes which are the subject of
the famous Inter-spousal De-cluttering Treaty, in which strategic quantities
of (a) cherished books and (b) cherished ladies' footwear, are carefully
balanced and assured of exemption from periodic de-cluttering exercises.)

Good luck, hopefully things won't be as bad as they were three years
ago.

Having seen the size of the storm, and having heard what Mayor Nagin
had to say[1][2], I think you're being a bit silly staying. Your
choice, of course.
