Wow, finally found a store in NW Ohio area that carries Marmite along
with a bunch of other UK food stuff such as HR sauce, etc. Gonna buy a
bunch of stuff and try them out.
Now I can see what the rave is all about.

I have no trouble finding it, but I don't have the courage to try it. It
looks too much like floor tile adhesive and it's reportedly whiffy.
Children in Marmite's normal distribution range apparently love the stuff.
It might be a taste that can be acquired only during a certain critical
period in early childhood. Let me know what you think of it.

Never in life! A1 is a runny tasteless substitute. I bought a bottle in
1999 because it looked similar - it's still in the cupboard!

Might have to give HP a try. I wouldn't call A1 tasteless, though. The
best burgers in the world start with ground round, minced onions, pepper,
and A1 thoroughly mixed. You can add a bit of salt, but the A1 makes it
almost unnecessary. Grill 'em or fry 'em. They're a juicy delight. More
A1 on top when they're done.
