Depends what you mean by "artificially" blanched.

White asparagus is just asparagus that's been grown in the dark, usually
in sheds (and sometimes under UV lamps). They don't add any chemicals
to it to make it do that, even though I'll grant you it looks odd.

Oh dear. Someone's in the dog house :)

If you've a little uncooked asparagus, just chop it into 2cm bits and
add to a stir fry. Yum.
