Proper Spanish tortilla

9 eggs (but you could use 12 and increase the potato content as well)
1 very large onion, finely chopped
Garlic to your desired quantity, finely chopped
Potatoes (about a half-pound)
Oil
Salt, Pepper

Peel and dice potatoes, boil them until tender but not mushy (about 7-8
minutes on the hob, or 4-5 minutes in the microwave), let them cool for a
couple of minutes.
Meanwhile, heat a couple of tablespoons...

I have no sympathy at all, it was your idea to keep hens! Haven't you
got any neighbours you could actually sell them to? People love the
thick orange yolks you get in home-kept hens' eggs.

Well, quite. I was going to suggest getting two potatoes each about
the size of an average apple, and calling that half a pound. Or one
big one. Potato or apple, of course.

Better still, weigh the buggers.
