I learned on a right-handed accoustic which I re-strung "the wrong way up".
Since I don't read music properly, it's still a bugger having to transpose
chord symbols, although I think that's just my problem - I might be
left-handed but I don't always "see" things left-handedly. I think I'm a
bit ambidextrous (altogether now: "Gah! I'd give my right arm to be
ambidextrous!").

When I retired and had a few bob, I wanted to pursue my teenage ambition of
getting a left-handed Fender Stratocaster. I spent two years searching, and
only finding ones at silly prices, before I was lucky enough to find one for
sale, locally, that was a bargain. They are as rare as rocking-horse sh*t,
though.
