South Ferry? Not the ferry to Statin Island? I recall those used to
leave about every ten minutes. Was this a ferry to Liberty/Ellis
Island?

Used to be 25 cents round trip to Statin Island (1980s)

I used to teach at a business school - part-time- which was located a
block from Port Authority on the second floor of a building at 40th
and 8th Avenue. Evening shift - 4pm - 9pm. Then I'd walk up 42nd
Street to 6th Avenue and catch the F train home.

That's when Times Square wasn't so gentrified. Every store between
6th and 8th Avenues on 42nd Street was a porno palace or adult shop.
There were gangs of drugies standing around trying to sell real or
bogus pot. Occasionally, there was a shooting at Bryant Park (6th
Avenue and 42nd Street). That's where a lot of the deals used to take
place.

Wilkes-Barre? That's fairly close to my family's home in Allentown.
You should have stopped in for a cuppa. My mother loves poetry.
