Bloody fingers and remapped function keys, Alt-X is right next to
Alt-S...
Anyroadup, Kaz bought me a couple of Cds for Valentine's Day and in
return I gave her considerable wood - to whit, or wit (it's got to be
one of those), a didgeridoo. ISTR didgeridoo skills being flaunted in
here some aeons ago - can anyone give any hints and tips to the
aspiring didgeridooist?

Congrats.
That's the single weirdest request for info I've ever seen anywhere on
UseNet :)

I once knew a chap who'd gone to a weekend party in SA with a watermelon
full of booze that resulted in his awakening in a stream with a didgeridoo.
He subsequently learnt how to play it but has no recollection of how
precisely the instrument came to be his. That was, apparently, quite a good
party. I do not remember ever going to such a party myself. Which proves
nothing.
Yes, I am aware that this does not help you with information regarding the
best techniques for the aspiring player.

When I thought about getting one I read this website for advice, although
there are plenty of others:
http://www.didges.com.au/play-the-didge.htm
I did watch someone play once with a proper hollowed out piece of Eucalyptus
which had a natural
bend it it. He occasionally turned the didge when playing it to get the
sound to bounce around the inside
a bit. It was very impressive.
Oh, and I didn't get a didge...I got asthma instead.

Why on earth did you get asthma? That's even less useful than a watermelon.

I understand it's very popular but when _my_ doctor told me I had asthma I
decided I didn't want it. I got a transfer instead and have only briefly
visited Pretoria since.
