  I didn't get a FEB!

Last weekend (well Thursday evening through Sunday evening), I had the good
fortune to be sailing in one of these from Plymouth:

http://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/archives/bavaria-44/bavaria-44.htm

One of my fellow matelots decided that on this occasion, he would be the
chef producing all the breakfasts. All were enjoyed but there was not a FEB!
Hmm!
The last morning, Sunday, he produced the most sublime flaked smoked salmon
scrambled egg; the proportionate mix between the salmon and ouefs was just
right for me and the consistency was wonderful. 'Twill be a repast that I
will recall in future years!

But no FEB, (or kippers)! (:

For the sailors and Landlubbers on this side of The Pond who experienced
fine weather in Britain, we had a downpour on Thursday night and sea mists
for most of the weekend! It only became bright at the time of the start of
the Single-handed Transat.

Is Molesy gearing up for one of these?

A few days ago I was riding my bike round the velodrome and listening
to a podcast of an ABC "Conversation Hour". When one of the guests was
announced as a blind aboriginal singer who was too shy to speak
English because it was his fourth or fifth language but he was a good
singer, could play the guitar and had been in Yothu Yindi I wasn't
expecting much. When his whitefellow bass player and interpreter
anounced that he was going to sing a song about an orange-footed scrub
fowl, his clan's token, I was getting ready to cringe. But then I
heard his voice. Audio quality could be better, but ...

He's from the Yolngu people where the chookie dancers who did Zorba
come from.

He's playing a right-handed guitar up-side-down because there weren't
any left-handed guitars around where he grew up.

Here's one that isn't. I hate the stuff wether it's green or white.
Mother used to make the stuff and I *had* to eat it.

I visited the farmers market this morning and bought some for B. I
bought artichokes for me.

Depends what you mean by "artificially" blanched.

White asparagus is just asparagus that's been grown in the dark, usually
in sheds (and sometimes under UV lamps). They don't add any chemicals
to it to make it do that, even though I'll grant you it looks odd.
