I am using the PE4 30 day trial product as a basis to decide on whether to by PE 7 and am running into a signficant problem. I can play the DVD's I recorded using my Canon camcorder and the sound is fine with MS Windows Media Player and Real Player but when I play the scenes using PE4 (I used the get media function to load tme into PE4) the sound keeps going in and out, chopping words off....
I just exported the Audio portion of the clip in question and it exported with no problems and I can hear it perfectly (no missing words/sounds) with MS Windows Player.
Would appreciate input on what is causing the problem?

Hi,
I used to do a lot of video editing on an XP tower with Premiere 6.5 and a Matrox 'accelerator' card. In addition to render support, the Matrox kit would allow me to 'batch capture' digital video from my camcorder and automatically create a new AVI file at the start of every clip - a brilliant time-saving feature.
I've now got a laptop with more power and storage capacity, but nowhere to plug in the Matrox card, so how do I do the same automatic 'batch' video clip capture now?
Andy.

When I exported an earlier version of my dramatic short as a Microsoft DV AVI, it had sound and the opening title was sharp, not at all fuzzy as it appears on the timeline (without hitting Alt). At that point I had not yet attempted any zooming, brightness level or color corrections.
Now, when I try an export, all the effects are ignored: the title has the same fuzzy appearance as on the timeline, my zooms and brightness level changes are ignored, etc. And the audio is disabled!
Ignore Video Effects on Export Movie Settings - Keyframe and Rendering is not checked. Export Video is checked, but Export Audio is not on Export Movie Settings - General. But both are in inactivated soft gray, so there's no way I can check Export Audio.
I'm using Adobe Premiere 6.5 on Windows XP. I can't find a solution for this in the help index.
Any help with these issues would be appreciated.

Hi there,
I've got a problem working with still images in 6.5. I'm trying to do a fancy slideshow of some holiday snaps which were initially 5 megapixel jpeg images. After importing only a few and start to play around with them, 6.5 always seems to grind to a halt and then crashes. I've tried resizing them to 720x576 and converting them to both TIFF and BMP formats (as advised when searching this forum), but still the problem persists.
Is there a way round this or is it a 6.5 thing? To not be able to play around with still images within 6.5 is seriously inhibiting and very frustrating!!
Thanks in advance.

I capture two separate audio sources in the left and right channels, then duplicate left or right for the end product. Lately I have had problems with that. If I select "duplicate left (or right)", when I go back in and check the audio options, it says "normal", in other words it ignores my duplicate selection.
This doesn't happen every time and I can't detect a pattern. I have had editing sessions where it worked correctly for a time, then at some point duplicate selections were ignored and only "normal" would show. When that happened even earlier selections were changed to "normal", left or right could not be chosen.
The system has worked pefectly for 3 or 4 years until the last 6 months. Nothing has been altered in that time period.

I am planning on getting a new computer, I have been using 6.5 on my old computer using XP home SP2 without too many problems. I can order my new computer with either Vista 32 or 64 bit OS. Will it work with either or can I expect problems? I am familiar with 6.5 and it does what I need, so I don't want to upgrade. Any help with my questions will be greatfully appreaciated. Thank you, Ralph Brown

I have a DVD recording that was made on a DVD camera. I have the DVD disk and was hoping to be able to convert the file to something that could be used on the internet.
The DVD plays on the computer. I used mydvd software to make a mpg2 which was almost 2 gig. Premiers Pro and 6.5 will not read the mpg2 file.
What can I do to convert the DVD to a windows file that can be compressed to a downloadable file for the internet?
If you have time - email me at tasetliff@ tampabay.rr.com - I need to get this done today if possible.
Thanks,
Tim
