I am using the PE4 30 day trial product as a basis to decide on whether to by PE 7 and am running into a signficant problem. I can play the DVD's I recorded using my Canon camcorder and the sound is fine with MS Windows Media Player and Real Player but when I play the scenes using PE4 (I used the get media function to load tme into PE4) the sound keeps going in and out, chopping words off....
Would appreciate input on what is causing the problem?

I am unable to import chapters 2-N from a big (1Gb) DVD VOB file.
The VOB file is produced using a Sony HDD 42 camcorder.
I can get chapter 1 / title 1 easily from "Available Media"
to "Monitor," but that is the only chapter I can access so far.
The Properties for the VOB file under "Available Media" shows
that the size is 1Gb.
(I am on Windoze but presume features are in this regard
similar for Macs and any other OSs.)
Also Adobe sales support 800 number 800-685-3652
says that due to inclement weather in (their) region,
they are closed until tuesday 7AM PST.
(right now it is saturday afternoon). I am in San Jose, California
and it is about 95 degrees Fahrenheit and clear skies.
Hey Adobe, WTF?!?
Thanks for any help...

This is an abstract from an on-going thread in the Adobe Premiere Elements forum. Im posting it here to try and get some information and direction on re-editing this Project. As I know nothing of Premiere 6.5 (Mac), Im hoping that someone here can educate me a bit. Im on Premiere Pro CS2 (Production Studio), but never used any flavor of Premiere 6.5, Mac, or PC. Also, while I do a lot of graphic design work in Adobe programs, and have been going between my PCs and my clients Macs for decades, I have no idea of how many platform differences and incompatibilities there might exist between Premiere 6.5 on the two platforms.
The original poster (OP) does not know photography, or video-production, so they are caught in the middle. I have tried to help, but can only address the Project from the standpoint of PP-CS2 on the PC.
The Project: This is a family album slide show, containing approximately 1400 still images. These are mostly scanned photographs, that were color/density corrected, edited with a frame, and inserted into Premiere 6.5 (Mac) as TIFF images. There are captions with the photographs. A music soundtrack was generated and the editing of the slide show was done to this music. AV files (unknown format - .MOV?) were Exported from Premiere 6.5 (Mac), which were brought into a DVD authoring program, and a set of three (3) DVDs were produced. Obviously, the 3 DVD set has the Video_TS (and Audio_TS probably) folders with the VOB, etc. files, but these are MPEG-2 compressed for DVD-NTSC at an unknown bit-rate.
What is Needed: Now, the end client wishes to make edits to the Project. Some photographs will need to be deleted entirely, a few new ones added and different music placed into the sound track, in lieu of some of the existing music.
What is Missing: The edited photographs, with captions, corrections and the frames, were not saved as PSD, but only as flattened TIFFs. The original scans were saved as PSDs, but without any of the...

Fading to black is resulting in poor quality with horizontal bands through it on the final DVD. The rest is fine. This happens with various authoring programs, so it must be a Premier problem. I have tried using a black JPEG (as opposed to fading to transparency) but still the same result. I am rendering to avi files which go into the authoring program. Funny thing, though, when I make a disc direct from premier it is fine. Trouble is, usually I want menus so I cant do this often, it was just that the one I am referring to was just a three minute job so no menu needed. I looked at Adobe help and it said that you could export to DVD and use the data for other authoring programs. Maybe this would be the answer, but I cant find a 'save to hard drive' option under export to DVD. Authoring programs...

Dear Friend,
I know all about your worries. That's because I was once in that same situation.
* Not knowing how to pay my next bill
* Detesting the job I am forced to do
* Being made ill by all that over time
* Dreaming all day long about mansions, swimming pools and super cars
* Worried about the welfare of my kids
Just imagine how your life would become if you knew what it really takes to creating more money
than you have ever dreamed you could make? What if you had the knowledge, skills, tools and
resources that allowed you to generate hundreds of dollars, every day, totally on autopilot. In fact,
what if you developed the knowledge and skills that allowed you to make money from your ideas at will ...
Imagine...
* All that stress suddenly vanishes
* You can fire your boss and tell him where to shove it
* Take holidays whenever you want and for as long as you want
* Be proud of the car and house that you actually own
* Give your children a rich, fun and fulfilling childhood ...
