Multiple threads on a Master Page

I have defined 3 pairs of threaded text frames on a master page.

explanation: a master page as 2 pages. so there are 3 text frames on
the first page one below the other, And a corresponding trio on the
second page. top box is threaded to top box, middle to middle, lower
to lower.

In the spread itself, as soon as I Place with Auto Fill the top text
frame, the text flows in a generates 139 pages with all frames on them
where the top one s properly filled with text and the other two -
empty as expected.

Now when I go to page 1 and try to select the middle text
frame....nada. It cannot be selected.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mickey
