Dunno about the Beeb, but there was a problem about two years ago with Gold
FM.

Gold FM is a radio station that plays classic hits from the 60s and 70s.
They announced that they would no longer be playing any records by Cliff
Richard. It seemed to me (and to many others) that Cliff's records were
pretty much the definition of classic hits from that period. (I'm not a big
Cliff fan, but I don't think that people should really just dismiss him out
of hand.) There was a bit of controversy in the press.

The situation was resolved when Noel Edmonds was interviewed on "Richard and
Judy", an early-evening talk-show on telly. Noel was asked about the
situation as Richard and Judy thought he had been the instigator of the
policy. It turns out that Noel Edmonds owns the majority share of Gold FM.
Noel was actually unaware of the new policy. The station management hadn't
seen fit to consult him. He apologised in the studio and asked if he could
be excused to make a phone call. Twenty minutes later he came back and
carried on with the interview. The following day, Cliff was restored to the
Gold FM playlist! :-D

Thanks for your lines, Enzo - it may well be something along those
lines. Or not. Here, I don't here much, or to be more precise from Boney
M. and Milli Vanilli - bot that I miss them, of course..

A few years ago, the beeb completely revamped the Radio 1 playlist and
Cliff was no longer welcome on it. Twas the moment that the Hairy
Cornflake threw his rattle out of the pram and walked, saying 'If you
don't want Cliff then you don't want me' and the Beeb said, well that's so
true. Goodbye.

Good track to start the Dark with. Good track, period.

Although, the Woodstock version is better.

Have ya *tried* listening to Radio1 lately? It's all urban "music" and
shouty DJs who think they are more important than the music. I much prefer
Radio2.

Sorry if this doesn't really interest all of you, but Enzo, and a few
who have been in the services may be interested: same thing with both
BFBS radio 1 & 2 here: it is at times hard work to have a good time
listening to them..

When I lived in Germany, there was only the one radio channel! But it did
have Richard Nankerville!

As I've said before, you're old before your time, you are.

Indeed, I have tried to listen to Radio one recently. Occasionally one has
no choice because the yoof element often outnumbers me. Now apart from the
odious fat Moyles, I rather like the station. I have no problem with much
new stuff and actually find Two a bit too similar to the the Radio one
that I used to hate in the eighties.

Kennedy, Wogan, Bruce, Vine and Wright. What a bunch of farts.

And I've said all that before. ;-)
