Well, I believe (from what I now remember) that his name remained the
same; Fede.
If they would have made a Swedish version it would have been "Fetto" and
I´m pretty sure THAT wasn´t the name tho because it is regarded as a
very downgrading remark.

I believe we missed that one... and thought that his name actually were
Fede...without reflecting too much about it. The same regarding Røde...
there never were any Swedish word for it as I now recall.

Grise-handleren (Grishandlaren, in Swedish) wasn´t he the father of the
wife of Mads Skjaern? But... his name... and Mads wife´s name... those
are long gone by now.

By the way... what ever happen to that communist guy who went down to
fight Franco in Spain? Did he ever return back home? I remember that he
went... but not what happen to him.

It seem to become yet another green Christmas here too. During night we
got some of that snow you had yesterday , but it looks more like white
dust and hardly visible at all.
Sigh... I do remember the kind of Christmas we had when I was young...
heaps os snow and the plow trucks had to drive all day long for to keep
the roads open... what happen?

Yes, that´s sad in a way even though we all probably love to read them,
at least the numbers of books sold indicates that we do. Well, I for one
miss the old good stories, the quality of an author to capture the
imagination of the reader / viewer... but...there are non.. or at least
very, very few.

I hardly don´t read any books nowadays because I mainly get so
disappointed... and there are nothing wore then a bad book. I therefore
stick to the movie and if I like the movie; THEN I buy the book. As it
turns out... this system is way better because you´ll see right away
whether the story sticks or not. Generally speaking, I have nothing much
left for modern authors because they seldom have any stories to tell
that I haven´t already heard a thousand times before.

One story that captured me the first time I saw it was the movie: Out of
Africa, based on the Book by the same name, written by the danish
author Karen Blixen... based on her own life in Africa in the early
1900... but I guess I don´t have to tell "you" bout it :) now do I?

Well... I never found the book tho... but the film I´ve seen.... and I
can´t even count the times. There is absolutely no action tho... no
murders or anything... but it has a very good, captivating story about a
white colonial woman and her life in Africa... during the days when the
world still was quite new and exiting. Not to forget... just how
beautiful it is to watch on the screen... the photo.. the scenery....
sigh. It sure brings a lot of food for thoughts.

Well.... time changes... sadly.... sort of...

Yip, Mankell is quite good but there are a few Swedish wimmen writing
good one´s as well. The most known is probably Liza Marklund who
probably is the best selling female crime author

Another woman that is interesting is Kajsa Ingemarsson who has been a
genuine spy in Russia during the time of the Iron Curtain. She´s also
been an employee at the Swedish Secret Polis (SÄPO) and her book; The
Russian frend (Den ryske vännen) has been regarded as one of the better.
She´s both good looking and seem a bit too fragile for to work as an
secret agent, but sometimes the visual appearance could deceive us.

Otherwise.. I´m not fond of the violence either, not in book and not in
movies.. I want a good captivating story.... but... they sure ain´t easy
to find these days.. as you know.

Lune? I never even heard the expression before! I guess most Swedes
would have misinterpreted that word and mistaken it as a danish version
of the english "Lunatic" or loony = (mångalen) a real screwball :) the
meaning of "Jyske lune" seem however to make better sense.

Yes, I´m actually very dependent on that. I´ve always been a night owl
due to that need for harmony and there is nothing so wonderful as when
there is total silence, or when you here the sound of nature from a
distance. A bird making a sound a few km away.. the sound of wind
blowing through the woods, the waves from the sea... you know... when
you are one with the universe.. sort of.. well I sure enjoy those
moments and it brings a wonderful harmony.

It´s not easy to obtain for sure, but anyhow... that is the moments when
I feel the best.

I guess most wimmen prefers the sounds from the city, the sound of other
wimmen fighting about a nice fur at half prize.. ha ha... no.. but I
guess wimmen in general is more fond of bigger cities then men... even
though exceptions do exist.

If you would ask Swedes what they do like about Denmark they all would
probably say the danish gemyt, or lune as you say. Nice, relaxed people,
very down to earth and who have the brains to enjoy life... and
frankly... I doubt there are better qualities to man then that.

Sweden is much more hectic... our whople society is a bit stressful and
builds on a total obsession regarding time. Once we had a guy from India
doing practice at my work and I asked him what he thought was hardest
to get used to in Sweden. He then said without any hesitation... The time.

Back home he said, back home I know that the bus will come... but
whether it is today or tomorrow I don´t know. It causes no problems as
long as I know that it is underway. Here... I watch people go totally
APE when the bus is 3 minutes late. And yes... he sure had a point... we
are totally obsessed by time.

Even though you are a bit like the rest of us regarding be on time etc.
you anyhow have a more relaxed way of living, at least from what I´ve
noticed tho.
> I hope your electric flaws work very well now.

Yip! the electricity works just fine now. I have a 12 Volt system in the
cabinet where i store my china etc. There is a dimmer attached to it
that had a flaw which made the light go on and off as it pleased. I had
to replace that one and then rewire a few cords. Well, now it seem to be
working just fine. Stupid system but it looks kinda nice when lit :)

Laku No.....eeeeh yes! I guess you have to explain that one as well :)

Maybe I shall try making some lunch here... it´s so gray outside.. a
gray wet mist and I can´t see further then just a few hundred meters..
what a Christmas...

Well, time for lunch..

Wishing you a real beautiful Sunday!
