Good morning Cindy!

Well.. I believe you when you say that you don´t celebrate Christmas.
You know, a little sweet / warm thought wrapped in Christmas-paper and
given to a friend or someone dear, is perfectly okay with me.. I too
have my weak moments you see J

I have actually two small sweethearts that I have bought something
special to this year as well.. A few days ago I happen to see that I had
two little mice living in my Cypress tree outside. It is two very, very
tiny ones, not bigger then the size of my thumb and they are so darn
cute so I simply can’t throw them out of there.

I have a little tube hanging from a stick next to the tree with some
food for the birds, and the two mice have obviously found it and now
they sit there at night in the weak light (I have some Christmas lights
in it) chewing on bird seeds.. so, I bought them a bag of big juicy
nuts, just so they too will feel it´s Christmas. Yea I know! :) I don´t
even dare telling my neighbours about it because they would probably die
from the chock. Miiiiiiiice!!!!

Well... I just think of them as newly married and now they trying to
build a little home for the first winter..

Oh, I´m sure your sister and Ronnie will be very happy for your
presents. I take it as your sister have a softie for Roses? Well, they
sure are beautiful, not to mention they smell wonderful too. A few years
ago I went to an Island in Sweden named Gotland. It´s located in the
Baltic Sea. It´s a very old Island and they say that once it was one of
the richest places on Earth. That was according to what they say, during
the Viking era.

Anyhow, the main old town there; Visby is known for its beauty and in
Visby they have a street known for it´s beautiful roses that climbs on
the walls of all the old buildings. I would guess that your sister would
enjoy a visit there sometime during summer. I sure found the whole
Island totally amazing… and most people probably do.

Günther Grass… yip! A very good writer indeed but my relation to him /
his work is however a bit different. In my country… you know…. In the
land where the true elfs lives, we have an old custom regarding having
eeal as a part of our Christmas food. I can´t say I like it, but I
anyhow used to take a bite or two on a sandwich... some thousands of
years ago now...

But…. I never thught about how they actually did when fishing eeal…. So
in my youth when I happen to watch a movie based up on his probably most
famous book, The Tin Drum… and saw how they used the heads from dead
horses for to catch them… I just had to go and throw up. That was my
first and last encounter with Mr.Grass.

I know that he is a brilliant author but each time I hear his name I get
this picture flashing inside of my mind and I just can´t think of
anything else but how eeals crawling in and out through the eyes and
mouth of that horse head. Brrrrrrrrr….

I´m sure Ronnie will have a much better experience tho… :) He is a very
brilliant author so it sure was a very good choice you´ve made. You do
read a lot yourself, don´t you?

Okay… you wanted to know where the true elfs live…. It is a well kept
secret tho… not many have survived to tell the tale... but because the
secret only can be reveald to people having a pure heart and a passion
for candles I know that the secret will be safe with you.

This will take you to the answer & a brief history… http://shorten.ws/f3w3

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Pete

Ps, I´m no Hobbit & have no sister in NZ :)
