Got up, had breakfast with the good lady, and reported to Y. barracks
for voluntary work as usual on a Thursday here. Not too many customers,
but hey - there's a regimental change in process, so it was to be expected.
Went home for dinner (two sarnies and a coffee), and then we went to our
car in order to drive to my home town for my usual, and Lisa's first
haircut after her hair had grown back after chemo earlier...

The Alfa is gone now - so I suppose my nick should change to MS now.
Nah, I'll keep it for old times' sake. Got 550 for it. Not too bad, eh?
And the insurance will cough up for the new receiver, as well. So all in
all, it was not that bad after all, if only for the trouble, and worries..
:-)

I never twigged that the Alfa in your nick was to do with the car. So many
people have 'names' that mean nothing except to themselves that I didn't
give it a thought.
What does the MS stand for?

Thanks for that.
Are you getting a new car? Probably not, judging from your first post on
the subject.

..Correct. Having on the receiving end of our equivalent of your UB
since the end of 2001, and at the age of 56 now I doubt it very much
that we could ever afford to get another car. And we don't really...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
It was really getting a bit silly here IMHO with the car just parked
with running costs all the time, and the free public transport was what
really made up Lisa's mind in the end. Although she had to say in the
afternoon it felt a bit "peculiar" not having a car of one's own when
having been used to owning one since the age of 18, and in a way I can
agree with that; it has been the same with me. But then look at the
advantages, do a few maths, and you'll see why I am feeling rather
relieved now: no more worries about a property & all the oncoming
"unexpected" repairs.
I'll rest my case. Mind your foot, though..
:-D
