It sounds very similar indeed. It is from an album called "Blues For
Greeny". Every track on the album is a Peter Green song.
There's a very good reason for Moore's version sounding very similar to
Green's version. They are both played on the same guitar, Green's 1959
Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard. In 1970 Green suffered bouts of
depression and became schizophrenic. He offered to sell his guitar to Moore
who refused because Moore knew that he couldn't raise what the guitar was
worth. Green told Moore that he would take whatever Moore could get for his
current guitar, otherwise Green would simply trash the Les Paul. Moore
managed to raise thirty quid and ended up with a priceless guitar.
Green seemed to drop off the face of the planet. He was institutionalised
and underwent therapy at times. His medical bills were paid by an anonymous
donor. It only came to light in the 90s, when Green made a partial recovery,
that the anonymous donor had in fact been Gary Moore.
