Just been listening to Simon Mayo in Radio2. His album of the week is the
new album by The Kooks.

I don't really like The Kooks. They are part of the whole "gawky yoofs
trying to look and sound like Jim Morrison but actually sounding just like
the Psychedelic Furs" milieu that I've written about before, but I must
admit I'm feeling slightly better disposed towards them after hearing about
the criticism being levelled at them lately.

Apparently they are far too middle-class.

One comment that they hear a lot is "Like the band. Like the music. But
you've got to stop shopping at Waitrose!"
