Why is this band so popular?

I'm listening to a track from their forthcoming album, which Aled Jones is
playing on Radio2. They sound just like all the other bands of gawky yoofs
singing in mockney accents. However, they seem to have surpassed even the
Kaiser Chiefs in writing stupid lyrics.

"I know what you're after
A rock and roll disaster
I see from the papers
That you read on escalators."

That's almost as bad as Des'ree!
